eep up or get out of the
business. That's the life of a high-tech worker.
I've found joy in keeping up. Well, I'm always a few steps behind, but I try. Messing around with technology means I'm like a kid in a candy store (or a middle-aged woman at Whole Foods) – there's always a delightful morsel to learn, a problem to solve, a new toy to fiddle with.
The Internet is another place where I can easily lose myself.

How amazing that I can turn every curiosity, every question, into an instant research project, and have a world of information at my finger tips. Google has literally changed the world in ten years.
I am very fortunate to have stumbled upon a profession - web design - that suits my personality and abilities. Most days I actually enjoy working.
I've made choices to facilitate my geeky life style and constantly remind myself to keep present and calm and focused and enjoy the ride.

Freedom!
I use Verizon Mobile Broadband to connect to the Internet anywhere in the United States. It's fast and dependable. No more hunting for WiFi hotspots!

An Easy Way to Fax
eFax is very handy. It has an easy to use interface. I often suggest eFax to clients.

My First Computer Shopping Stop
I check prices at Best Buy first. I usually buy my digital cameras and blank DVD's there. Shop online, pickup at the store.

Backing Up in the Cloud
Not a very intuitive interface, but Mozy is useful for backing up files. Be sure to read the fine print - there's no privacy with this service.

Do-It-Yourself
An oldie, but goodie, Intuit software is still a good choice for small businesses. Some of their "basic" products are actually better - less bells & whistles.

iStockphoto.com is an excellent source for stock images. Sometimes better than Fotolia.com...sometimes not - check both.
