or the past 25 years

I've been an "alternative" girl, scorning conventional wisdom and marching to my own drummer (or crystal bowl player).

I started shopping at a local health food coop when it was just a tiny storefront. Today, it's a supermarket-sized paradise. Who could have known?

By continually pushing the envelope and experimenting with ever more "alternative" modalities, I was blessed to have overcome Chronic Fatigue, Epstein-Barr, allergies, and environmental sensitivity.

For many years, it was hard to swim against the tide - to be called a "health food nut". But, I stayed the course and acquired the skills and resources needed to give myself the gift of "healthy aging."

It's so much easier now that "alternative" has become trendy…and every major city has a Whole Foods.

Here are some of my favorites - enjoy!

Who Knew…I'm Gluten Intolerant
I recently discovered that foods containing gluten were playing havoc with my system. I eliminated gluten and, thankfully, I feel great! Check out the book: Gluten-Free Diet: A Comprehensive Resource Guide.

No Brain Drain Here
I love Lumosity.com, a great new Website for brain training games. Brain exercise is fun...and it can't hurt!

How Not to Be a Fuddy Duddy at Work
I'm embarrassed by how much I learned from this book: "How Not to Act Old: 185 Ways to Pass for Phat, Sick, Hot, Dope, Awesome, or at Least Not Totally Lame".

My Absolute Favorite
Sir Jason Winters said "Death begins in the colon." Well, then, life begins with Oxy-Powder™. It's a must for aging gracefully – the best…and I've tried them all!.

Yogi Tea is My Bag
I love most of the varieties of Yogi Tea, especially Organic Green-Simply Decaf. I'm glad Yogi Tea has become so popular. Listen to Sikh music while enjoying a cup. I suggest Channel 2.

Wissotzky is My Guilty Pleasure
Yup, I know Wissotzky Earl Grey isn't exactly health food, but once in a while…it's lovely with milk and honey. Listen to Israeli music while enjoying a cup. I suggest Rusty Mike Radio (in English).

Get to the Heart of the Matter
eHarlequin offers many good romance novelists, but I suggest starting with my friend, Kate Hoffmann. Her books are gripping, funny, and a joy to read!

Oldie But Goodie
Walgreens is my shopping "blast from the past" - been going there all my life. I enjoy strolling down the aisles. I use their Website to browse the coupon specials.

Tickle Your Fancy
Cafe Press is my favorite T-shirt source. Even if you don't find exactly the one you're looking for, you'll have some good laughs.
